Two years ago, at right about this time, I was at the rehearsal for my wedding.
I was still tired from the excitement of my bachelorette party the night before, which was the best EVER. My friends took me to dinner and then out on the town in Augusta, Ga. My groom’s friends took him out in Columbia, S.C. While we were out for my bachelorette party, one of my friends had a severe asthma attack and needed her inhaler, which was back in her hotel room, over an hour away in Columbia.
So, proving that he is truly awesome, my groom and his friends retrieved the inhaler and brought it to us. Then, they stayed and we all danced the night away. I had a blast and stayed up way too late!
The next day, we nearly froze during the rehearsal, which was outside. I hoped the weather would be warmer the next day for the wedding since we were marrying outside, and my bridesmaids and I were all wearing sleeveless/strapless dresses.
After the rehearsal, we practiced our first dance and then headed over to our rehearsal lunch at a local Italian restaurant. The pictures below are from our rehearsal lunch. The first is obviously us enjoying spaghetti, Lady and the Tramp-style.
The second photo is from when we stood up to briefly address our family and friends. I distinctly remember this moment because I hadn’t planned to speak, but felt I should once the lunch was underway. And at this moment I said, “We have been truly overwhelmed by the generosity of our friends and family…” and then I started crying. I hated crying in front of people, but this photo is a reminder of that day, that moment and how our loved us joined us in celebrating our wedding. Such a wonderful moment!
