Hi, I’m Shannon. I’m a writer and photographer based in South Carolina, where I live with the love of my life next to a beautiful field that is, for now, waist-high with cotton.
I started shooting a hot-pink 110 camera at age 8 or so and have upgraded and loved learning ever since. My passion for photography has grown; my love for hot pink has faded completely!
I studied English and then journalism and photography in college, but wasn’t sure how I could combine the two into a career I loved. Choosing my major and minor was simple because I just wasn’t interested in doing anything else.
In Alabama, my home state, I worked with a good friend shooting weddings until I landed a public relations job in South Carolina and moved. After five years at the same job, it was time for a change. I hadn’t decided what exactly I wanted to do, but knew what I was doing wasn’t “it”.
So, I decided to make writing and photography my full-time job, and haven’t looked back. I’m happy doing the two things I enjoy most: writing and capturing beautiful moments in people’s lives. I love interviewing people and telling their stories, and I’m especially interested in shooting modern portraits of women, couples and weddings.
When I’m not working I like to travel, do DIY projects at home, cook (sometimes, but not always, from scratch) and go out dancing.
I’d love to hear from you and tell your story!
